Anchors Away!

Anchors Away! is a 2 player versus game where you must control a ship with no sails, collecting as much treasure as you can whilst scuppering your opponent.  Try to keep your cool under a time limit as well as avoid getting scuppered yourself!

With no sails on the ship you will need to use your anchor to propel yourself around the arena, as well as damage your opponent. This can be a hard skill to master, but very rewarding once you do!

Built as part of the 2018 GMTK game jam, this game was based on the theme "GENRE without MECHANIC". Think of this as a top-down ship combat game without the usual means of propulsion.

How to play:

Player 1 Controls - 

Use A & D to steer your ship.

Press SPACE to shoot your anchor at any solid object.

Point your ship towards your anchor to gain speed.

Player 2 Controls-

Use LEFT & RIGHT to steer your ship.

Press ENTER to shoot your anchor at any solid object.

Point your ship towards your anchor to gain speed.

General rules:

Collect red "X"s to gain points and repair your hull.

Smashing your ship will lose you points.

Smash each other's ships by hitting them with your anchor, or by ramming them!

Most points at the end of the time limit wins!
